In Cecatea, sound artist and composer Anne van de Star and percussionist Anita Cappuccinelli explore how music sounds at the edge of the audible. In the resonances of laser-cut plates lies a glimpse into the world of non-human communication. Through electronic processing, hidden sounds emerge, allowing us to discover the depth and complexity of sound. The title Cecatea refers to the communication of whales, which is inaudible to humans without technology. The project stands up for voices that are in danger of disappearing.
