An electric model of an aeolian harp has been installed by the artist on the volcanic black sand beach of the village of Ajuy, on the island of Fuerteventura, Spain. Faced with the power of the North Atlantic Ocean, an unheard-of music dictated by nature blends with the sounds of the waves. A poetic, artistic and sonic experience of this magnetic natural space. Visitors are invited to listen directly to a natural phenomenon, to “tune in” to nature and appreciate its sonic and meditative aspects.

Initiated in 2010 with the artist Olivier Meunier, the EOLIEN-SONORE project consisted of a small ensemble of electric wind harps, enabling visitors to listen to the music of the wind in real time on the rooftops of Brussels. The project then took the form of a collection of wind harp recordings made around the world by Stéphanie Laforce.

Multimedia artist and electroacoustic composer, Stéphanie Laforce builds and develops interactive poetic interfaces through the use of new technologies. She has a number of sound installations to her credit and has been involved in the digital arts for many years. Her musical production embraces compositions with varied and specific universes through their poetry and social commitment. From concerts to exhibitions, from indoor/outdoor installations-interventions to performances, she decompartmentalizes practices through choices of representation that combine poetry, history and physical presence. Her approach attempts to answer an essential question, the place of the human in a mechanical world.
