Sound carries memories. What’s stuck in your ear? During Geluidsdrager (“Sound Carrier”), you’ll take a walk with speakers of De Zwerm in a backpack that play a mix of sound and silence. It blends with the city’s ambient noise, creating a dialogue between the two. Together, we’ll trace a sound path through the streets, connecting the fragmented urban rhythms of people and places.
Each participant becomes a moving source of sound, and together, we form a temporary community with a shared sonic presence. But how did the sounds affect you? What emotions did they stir up? What are the sounds you would want to live in? These are the questions Geluidsdrager explores and unpacks. How do you listen, really?
A drop becomes a rain shower.
Footsteps become a crowd.
A chorus of electric cars.

aifoon is an arts organisation that brings listening in motion through participatory projects and productions. Our ears teach us things our eyes can’t. They perceive the same reality but capture different truths. Our work is driven by questions like: How does sound affect you? Do you really only listen with your ears? How do you experience silence. Does silence even exist? In a society dominated by images and visual stimuli, aifoon aims to inspire people to prick up their ears, and to feel out their surroundings not just through their eyes but by truly listening.
