Klankenfiets is a sound project based on the manipulation of a bicycle, which becomes a musical instrument. It’s an opportunity to take the audience on an excursion through soundscapes generated by spokes struck with a skewer, a bow rubbed on the brake cable, the activation of the pedals, the rubbing of a micro-contact on the rubber of a moving tire, and so on. This device is enhanced by a narrator’s voice, offering a story that takes us to the ends of the earth, where climate change resonates in its own way.
