From a vast childhood garden to autonomous rural communities, passing through the battered roads of Rabat, the Hole Digger digs into the earth to search for treasures, make traps, or find refuge. Storytelling and electroacoustic music weave an escape into the memories and imagination of a child seeking reassurance in the humus, joy in the sediments, and laughter in the fall. Who digs, finds?
Combining adult storytelling (in French) with improvised electroacoustic music, the duos Tympocaïne 200 (Roald Baudoux, Hugues Peeters), L’œil écoute (Mathieu Buytaers, Jean-François Lejeune), and storyteller Manu De Lœul will blend their disciplines through various solos and combinations, culminating in a collective improvisation. The performance will be sculpted in space using an immersive sound setup with multiple speakers.
°°°
A storyteller since 2010, Manu De Lœul brings to life tales that have been dormant in books. He also listens to fragments of life and rearranges them, projecting other possible imaginations. Tympocaïne 200 is an electroacoustic musical improvisation duo formed in 2018. The duo combines and transforms their sounds using a flexible setup based on innovative gestural interfaces, creating connections between gestures and sounds that are both intimate and flexible. L’œil écoute consists of a sound engineer associated with a sound designer and digital artist. They develop an instrument in perpetual evolution where technicality serves the narrative, offering immersive experiences based on improvisation.
