Field Recording competition : Sub Terra

La Semaine du Son, with the support of Bruxelles Environnement, is launching its next Field Recording competition, which aims to reward the best 1 to 3 minute Field Recording sequence recorded in Belgium in 2024.

This year, we invite you to explore what lies underground. What kinds of sounds, atmospheres and soundscapes can be found under the earth and beneath our feet? How can we hear these hidden yet moving worlds? Where can we find traces of sound that are on the verge of being erased? How do these sounds inform us about our world, and can they offer new perspectives on what’s going on above ground?

Open your ears and take your microphones on a discovery trip !

How to enter?

  • Read the competition rules here for more details

Sound files will be submitted anonymously to the jury without any indication (no title, no material used, no location, no photo, no name of the author/author, of course). The competition is open to everyone, regardless of professional experience or type of equipment used. The jury will pay particular attention to the originality of the sequence and its sonic impact.
